  1. This is a utility for BATCH uploading:

  3. Files included in this archive include:

  5. TAGFILE.EXE : Main control program.
  6. DIRN.EXE    : File Tagging utility called by TAGFILE.EXE.  This may be run
  7.               independantly of TAGFILE.EXE
  8. DGS.DEF     : Sample configuration file.
  9. TAGFILE.TXT : This document.
  10. READ.ME     : Document to contain future enhancements so you don't have to
  11.               Read this everytime there is an enhancement.
  12. ID.BAT      : Batch file for processing DIZ ( prepared descriptions ) files.

  14. 1.) Edit DGS.DEF to match your system.  Be sure the executable files are
  15.     either in your path or your current subdirectory. ( Executable files
  16.     called by this program are DSZ.COM, HSLINK.EXE, and DIRN.EXE ).

  19.  Line 1: test.lst      <- Name of file listing tagged files (No Path needed);
  20.  Line 2: handshake both sz <- DSZ Command line (Zmodem);
  21.  Line 3: sb <- DSZ Command line (Ymodem-g);
  22.  Line 4: handshake both sb -k  <- Ymodem command line.
  23.  Line 5: -@ -NV -UC:\BOYAN\DL -S2048 <- HS/Link parameters.
  24.  Line 6: /I BIMOD1.LOG <- Bimodem Parameters
  25.  Line 6: c:\qed\q.exe  <- Path to your favorite text editor;
  26.  Line 7: 2             <- Communications port you COMM program uses.
  27.  Line 8: 19200         <- Communications port speed
  28.  Line 9: COM           <- If using DSZ.COM enter COM here. If using EXE
  29.                           enter EXE.  If Blank TAGFILE defaults to DSZ.COM
  30.  Line10: DESC.SDI      <- Name of file description to be added to ZIP file.
  31.                           If BLANK  TAGFILE defaults to FILE_ID.DIZ

  35. 2.) To run this utility setup a macro in your communications program;
  36.  
  37. I set mine up in Boyan for the "F9" key. To do this in Boyan, load
  38. BOYAN.COM.  Enter "ALT-C" to configure boyan.  When the configuration
  39. menu shows enter "M" for macros.  Pick the key you want to use from
  40. the menu selections and then enter the prompt as follows:
  41. \DC[TAGFILE]

  43. Make sure DGS.DEF and DIRN.EXE are in the subdirectory you load
  44. TAGFILE.EXE in.  This utility is not nearly as sophisticated as Byte
  45. Brothers POWRN nor is it intended to compete with them.  This is
  46. intended to simplify your batch uploading.  ALSO, this is free.
  47.  
  48. The commands on the menu are pretty much self explanitory.
  49. The "U" will send the upload command to the host system along with
  50. the file names of the tagged files.  Once the command is sent you
  51. will be returned to your communications package in case you haven't
  52. told your favorite BBS which protocol you want to use.  Once you have
  53. done so return to tagfile and press the upload key for the protocol
  54. you wish to use.

  57. Once you have tagged some files for uploading, dial your favorite BBS
  58. and have a good time transferring files.  Be sure to upload quality files.
  59. This makes your sysop infinitely happy.
